Dr. Parsons founded Parsons Research Engineering as a partnering resource for early-stage and established high technology companies. He provides consultation, research, and product development expertise to CEOís and executive management teams. During his career, he has developed many sensor products, including biomedical neural-interface electrodes, mixed signal integrated circuits, MEMS accelerometers, and capacitive and piezo-resistive sensors. His ability to successfully develop new and innovative products has contributed to companies and clients growth in revenue and market share.
Prior to founding Parsons Research Engineering, Inc. Dr. Parsons was Director and Sr. Staff Scientist at Maxim Integrated Products, a premier Silicon Valley microelectronics company. As a strategic member of the management team he helped build the portfolio of sensor radio frequency related integrated circuits for industrial, automotive, and consumer applications that generated over $15M/year in revenue. He developed strategic plans for products that opened up new market segments for Maxim.
During his career he spent with Ford Motor Companyís Electronics Division in a variety of management, research, and design roles. At Fordís Microelectronics and MEMS Research Center in Colorado he led the accelerometer product development group. Overall, his work included a number of commercial launches of $100+ million revenue-producing products including products for European and Asia-Pacific markets. He worked closely with global suppliers and partners of high-technology components to bring new features, cost advantages, and competitive edge to Ford vehicles worldwide.
Early in his career he worked at a start-up company, Sensor Developments, Inc., a manufacturer of industrial sensor and electronics products. There his responsibilities increased progressively from design to more strategic-level management positions ultimately leading the research and new product development group. This company ranked repeatedly on Michiganís top-500 list of high-growth companies.
Dr. Parsons holds numerous U.S. patents in the sensor silicon micromachining field. He has received several technical achievement awards, such as Analog Zoneís 2007 Product Design of the Year, is a member of the IEEE and SAE, and has been a speaker and chairman at technical conferences. He has authored several articles for widely recognized trade journals. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado - Boulder in 2007. He received the Masters degree in Electrical Engineering in Microelectronics from Oakland University in 1996. He has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 1990. Dr. Parsons lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and in his spare time, he enjoys climbing, skiing and spending time with his family.
